I was out pushing snow this evening and out of nowhere my heat stopped. The blower still works but there's nothing but cold air coming out of the vents.
It is possible there could be a shut off valve that is not allowing flow through the heater core. Also check for a restricted cab air filter that would restrict airflow. If all of this checks out okay, Verify that the blower motor fan is coming on and functioning. Anyway, when I bought the machine the blower to the AC/heat wasn't working. I just purchased a 2004 Cat 246B and the heater doesn't blow very good. I purchased a new filter for the heat-A/C and there isn't much change even though the filter was filthy. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Check to see if there is a shut off valve in the heater core hose. My skid at work has one that we shut off in the summer to make the a/c colder in the summer. If your engine temps are at normal then you should be getting heat. . Mechanic: Dan. Take a very close look at your heater control valves. Make sure your heater control valves are actually opening up the coolant flow through your heater core and heater hoses.
