I ran across a Mustang 940 skid steer with low hours. Just wondering if people have experience operating these skids? What controls are used on these machines? Are parts readily available? I have attached a picture of the one Im looking at. Thanks for your input.
OMC (Owatonna Manufacturing Co.) built skid-loaders for a number of years for john Deere. If your 440 has 2 steering levers (left & right) then it is clutch controlled with variable speed belt driven, exactly the same as a JD24. If your 440 has single lever T bar control it is hydrostatic drive and is same as a JD24A with exception of the engine. Is the hydraulic system on that 440 pretty bulletproof? all lines are intact. All cylinders are there as well intact. I took a battery and turned the motor over hooked a wire from the distributor straight to the battery.
