The 773 will have no problem pushing a 8' skid steer. A 10' backhoe model is a whole lot heavier and sticks out futher sinces your are mounting it to the bucket not the skid plate. Which is reducing the skid loaders lifting capacity.

I built a 10' pusher out of a John Deere snow blade for a backhoe. I made it quick attach to my John Deere Tractor loader and installed a rubber edge that I ordered from plow rubber. The side plates are 3' by 3' and are 1/4" the skid shoes are made of snow plow cutting edges and the braces for the side plates out of used 3" by 3" 1/4" angle iron.
An 8 foot pusher will hold 5-7 cubic yards of snow. You aren't going to do that with any skid steer bucket. Pushers with steel trip edges will clean just as good as a bucket without the risk of hitting a manhole cover or other obstacle and jamming your head through the front glass.
I am looking to buy a skid steer for snow removal. I have always rented a 70hp wheeled machine and used it with a plow for sidewalks and salt loading. This year things have changed and I would like to buy a machine and just wondering if anyone knew of a general hp to push box ratio. Would love to run a 10' box but need to keep the machine small .

I have mostly used it for pulling parking stalls/small areas for the bigger loaders but it looks like some medium/smaller lots might come through this year that are a pain to do with the larger loaders.

I'm looking to get your thoughts on what is the best overall skid loader snow pusher for the money. We have ran 10' ProTech and Arctic. Not a big fan of the ProTech and the Arctic is a nice pusher and scrapes good but is pricey and has lot's of moving parts. I've heard good things about the Boss snow pushers but only in the larger loader models. Last year we ran the same pusher on a bobcat s250. after a 4" wet heavy snow, we came to the conclusion that the 246c can definitley run a 10'. Im not sure in the difference between steel trip edge and rubber edge, as far as what hp is required, but the 246 can handle the 8' with ease. '05 F-250 Diesel- 8'6" Western MVP.
