Hemi, I have been using Cat 287's, 277's, and 257's since day one. What i like about them is the visability from the cab unlike the Mustang's or the Takuechi's where it is rather hard to see the edge of the bucket. Also another good feature of the Cat is the reach it has ( with the bucket angled down). I am about to pick up a 2007 CAT 277b for my landscape company. Enclosed cab, 1600 hrs, great condition.. ,000. Anyone have any advice on why I should not buy this machine? #1. Found this 05 Cat 277B low hours bank repo with a/c. I loved the ASV system that bolted on in place of the tires on a wheeled skid steer. Sometimes hard to get on and off, but way tougher than the wheels and the tracks that CAT made. I have been looking at a Cat 297c real seriously for my next machine. I have always been a Bobcat guy. The tracks on these machines are better than those offered by Bobcat for snow removal. C series machines had a reputation for sluggish controls. If you got out of a 277B and got in a 277C, it was really hard to adapt. If you had never run a pilot operated machine, it wasn't that noticeable. The biggest plus to buying a Cat skid loader will be the dealer support.
On my last use with the 277B I washed it thoroughly as usual but put it away wet. normally I run the machine a bit to dry it up so it doesn't sit wet. I was under time constraint and just shut it down after parking it. I did have a dead battery and I charged it over night before use. Everything seemed fine and I put it away. 2003 cat 277 skid steer. Is the 277 the same as a 277b as far as seal kits go?
