go to jdparts.com and look for the 70 skid steer. That will give you parts diagrams. OMC parts are available through mustang and gehl dealers and im sure for that model JD as well. They aren't too bad of a machine to work on. There was a shop i drove past in Lena, illinois that was filled with old OMC skid steers.

I have a Mustang Owatonna 345 skid steer that I believe was built between 1978 and 1982. It's powered by a Duetz 2 cylinder air-cooled diesel engine and was running fine except it was using A LOT OF OIL. If I ran it 3 or 4 hours, I'd have to stop and put a gallon of oil in it.

I have recently bought a 40 plus year old hydrostatic skid steer for projects around 8 acres of property. Its rough to look at but is functional. Parts are non existent, but major components are still available. Im just trying to learn enough . Some info here that may help in finding information & parts. OMC (Owatonna Manufacturing Co.) built skid-loaders for a number of years for john Deere. If your 440 has 2 steering levers (left & right) then it is clutch controlled with variable speed belt driven, exactly the same as a JD24. Gehl/Mustang: 7810, 7610 and 2199, 2099 (respectively for Gehl and then Mustang; two models per company) are vertical; everything else they make is radial. umm. I don't know if I've missed anything. Oh. JCB is all radial. And there are a few smaller companies (ASV, Takeuchi) that are still making only radial machines.

I am making a quick attach for my FEL on my tractor and was wondering if anyone new the specs on it. I put the pins on 33 inch centers and I came up with 40 degrees for the bottom bend where the pin goes through and 45 degrees for the angle at the top of the quick attach.
