I need some help. I am trying to replace my block heater. I does not work. I . Are you in a 1 inch screw out plug or using a freeze plug. Where are you locating the unit. Ill bet you are too close to metal, ie not enough water surrounding the element. I purchased a 2000 Case 1845c. The block heater needs to be replaced. What is a good after market heater and what size is it. By looking at it I assume it is a freeze plug style heater with out threads. Is this correct? My parking brake assembly is unhooked and is non-functional. The machine moves. Can the pins be removed? I do not want them .
It is easy to test the block heater. Just connect a Ohm Meter across the two terminals of the heater. I'm thinking a block heater for an 1845C would be about a 750 watt heater so at 120 volt that would read at approx. 19 ohms across the two terminals.
