New Holland LX485 troubleshooting: engine, drive system, hydraulic system, and electrical I purchased a used New Holland lx485 this past fall to as the primary snow removal tool at my home. Worked great all winter until this past snow storm when all the hydraulic functions ceased to work. After doing a little reserch i can along the topic on the pressure switch failling so i ordered a new one, replaced it and to my luck nothing.Good Evening I have a New Holland Skid Steer LX 485 . I was useing it the other day while cleaning the barnand all of a sudden everything hydraulic stopped and shut off. When it stopped it was like I hit a brick wall. I removed the skid plate from under the seat and fixed the hose coming from below the hydraulic tank. I also changed the rusted out pipes coming from the hydraulic pump. But, now, when i try to tip the bucket up or lift it moves really slow.
That is the least of your problems!!! We had a L218, 2 L220s and a L213, put about a 1000 hours on each and all got new engines under warranty due to poorly designed motor mounts, belt tensioner, etc. they are complete garbage! Worst product New Holland ever made! If your skid loader doesn't start with the switch in the "service" position, your problem is in the general starting system and not with the interlock safety system (seat switch, seat belt) Start relay, starter/starter solenoid (my guess), cables, battery, ect. I need some help with a lx 485. it runs fine, idles fine runs wide open fine. if you try to move forward or back or raise the bucket the engine falls on its nose, dies. let off the hdy, and it goes back to running fine.
