i have a 2004 Mustang 2044, great little machine, simple to operate and repair. i would join heavyequipmentforums.com and do a search on the 2109. ive read quite a few horror stories about the 2109. do afew searches online first. As with most internet searches for equipment reviews, you typically only find those folks with bad experiences and looking to vent. As someone looking to add a skid steer on a modest budget to the farm, I've found several Mustang's in my price range but I'm leary based on lack of positive reviews.
Soon Mustang sold to Gehl, but Gehl kept both brands and home offices open. The differences between the machine (engines, primarily) are the result of Mustang and Gehl dealers not wanting to compete against each other with identical machines. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the quality and longevity or mustang skid steers. The one i am looking at has an owner that doesn't know the model but it is a early eighties model and is yellow with a four cylinder gas engine. You can't really say anything negative about a Mustang or Gehl skid steer other than they don't have the best resale for some reason. They are very very dependable and tough as nails. As far as specifications go they stack up very well with everyone out there.Appealing to pig and poultry enterprises along with smaller livestock farms, or just anywhere where space is a premium, Manitou hopes it latest skid steer lo.
I ran across a Mustang 940 skid steer with low hours. Just wondering if people have experience operating these skids? What controls are used on these machines? Are parts readily available? I have attached a picture of the one Im looking at. Thanks for your input. The same dealer has 2 mid 90's Mustang brand skid steers that are priced about 00 less than the Case and have lower hours and appear to be in great shape. New tires, tight pins, no weld repairs, no leaks, good hoses, not banged up, and clean paint.
