Above is some historical data for Case machines My experience is/was with a 1740 which was about the same vintage. 1740 is a 40 HP diesel. The 1740 was a strong machine and was pretty much bullet proof, but hard to work on.
I think the Case 1845C is the toughest skid steer ever made. You can't wear the engine out and the hyd. pressure is so low that leaks are never much problem. The operators view is better than most and the construction is heavier than the competition. All that said A Bobcat of the same weight will dig circles around it. In the process of changing out all 3 belts in my 1992 case 1818 skid steer does anyone know if I have to pull the motor out to replace them. Or can it be done through the top looks pretty tight Any info would be appreciated thanks
Thanks - this was one of my concerns as we run mulching heads fine on our 100hp gear (mostly on Takeuchi TL150's ) but I'm skeptical about a much lesser powered machine, the thing in the little Case's favour though is hydraulic output c.30gpm @3000psi (manufacturer quoted spec's as opposed to real world experience ) & reduced running costs on the light .
