K+ I have a 863 Bobcat also and I installed a heater from a junk Gehl skid steer with a Deutz engine. Alot of those box heaters will work with oil instead of antifreeze. The electric heaters arent worth a thing in my opinion. I mounted the heater on the left side of the seat shoulder heighth. Works good. I have a 2005 John Deere 317 skid steer and I am going to add a cab heater but need to know the best place to tie into the cooling system. I have installed heaters in boats where you can just tie into the manifold with one hose and right by the water pump with the second hose but I am not as familiar with the skid steer set-up.
On the skid steer cab enclosures, how does the canvas-type from Northern Tool work with fogging up or ice build up? Throwing on a 0 canvas with or without a heater seems a little too easy. If I can get away with a canvas enclosure and heater for 0 that sure beats k or so from the dealer. Make sure you get a heater with the valve/reducers and such kit, they're necessary to tap into your engine for coolant. Some 5/8" radiator hose, and a little wiring, and you're in business.
